Robust Multi Degree of Freedom Hybrid Vibration Absorption

چکیده
A robust vibration absorber reduces vibrations of a system over a range of frequencies. Passive vibration absorption is achieved with a tuned mass and spring (known as a dynamic vibration absorber (DVA)). This is a simple, low cost method of reducing vibrations at a single frequency; however, in order to achieve robust absorption a heavy mass is required. Active vibration control is achieved with an actuator capable of applying a force to the system at any range of frequencies, but this method is expensive. Combining active and passive absorbers allows for robust absorption with minimum passive absorber mass. Various methods of combined absorption have already been proposed for systems with a single resonant frequency. This paper investigates hybrid robust vibration control of a primary system with frequency components which are the first three harmonics of the excitation of the system. The hybrid absorber consists of a three mass-spring system. Passive absorption is achieved with three masses and joining springs, the active absorption is modelled as springs in parallel with the passive springs but with variable stiffness. Variations in frequency harmonics are proportional; absorption is maintained at a range of frequencies by altering the active spring stiffnesses.

Pareto Optimization of a Two-degree of Freedom Passive Linear Suspension Using a New Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm (TECHNICAL NOTE)
The primary function of a suspension system of a vehicle is to isolate the road excitations experienced by the tires from being transmitted to the passengers. In this paper, we formulate an optimal vehicle suspension design problem with the quarter-car vehicle dynamic model. A new multi-objective genetic algorithm is used for Pareto optimization of a two-degree of freedom vehicle vibration mode...
متن کاملA hybrid solution approach for a multi-objective closed-loop logistics network under uncertainty
The design of closed-loop logistics (forward and reverse logistics) has attracted growing attention with the stringent pressures of customer expectations, environmental concerns and economic factors. This paper considers a multi-product, multi-period and multi-objective closed-loop logistics network model with regard to facility expansion as a facility location–allocation problem, which more cl...

The contribution of this paper is twofold. First, the paper introduces a novel hybrid vibration isolation approach which uses a combination of passive and active vibration control techniques to provide additional design freedom. The approach can be used to meet higher design requirements with respect to vibration isolation. To illustrate the feasibility of the approach, a stiff hybrid sixdegree...
